Literary forest
The Bosco Pianetti farmhouse, created in 1982 from ancient restored stables and sheepfolds, is located at 750 meters above sea level within the splendid setting of the Madonie Natural Park, in a green, quiet and peaceful estate of 115 hectares that belonged to the botanist Domenico Lanza , unique in Sicily for the number of monumental oaks, mostly downy oaks and cork oaks. There are over a hundred of them: it is estimated that the oldest, dedicated to the Grimm brothers, is 650 years old.
Bosco Pianetti is in fact a literary agritourism: the splendid secular trees, giants guardians of the forest witnesses of centuries of history, are dedicated to poets and poets, novelists and novelists, and a naturalistic and cultural itinerary suitable also for schools can be visited: the forest it can be a starting point for environmental and literary education courses.
Our titles are real baptisms, in which we read passages by the author or author to whom that tree is dedicated and we seek a benevolent contact with the stem and branches of that kind living creature that contributes to oxygenate and enrich our planet. .
The wood is actually divided into different areas for landscapes, flora and literary attributions. Thus we have the steep and dark holm oak wood, dedicated to Dante Alighieri; the grove named after Torquato Tasso, who described the enchanted forest of Saron in the Gerusalemme Liberata; the forest of fairy tales, the garden of Cipollino and Sor Zucchina, the paths of the Golden Donkeys, the wood of the Poets ...
Some areas are particularly suitable for activities such as forest bathing, forest medicine and silvotherapy activities, derived from Japanese shinrin - yoku: it has been shown that the practice of immersion in the woods, in particular holm oak and beech woods, according to certain criteria and times, it is able to significantly improve psychophysical health, lowering the levels of cholesterol, cortisol, inflammatory cytokines, regulating breathing and heartbeat and acting in a powerful way on anxiety and depression.
We want Bosco Pianetti to also become a place
of healthy practices in close connection with nature, according to a reciprocity whereby, while receiving benefits, good is also done to this wonderful ecosystem that we have the honor of protecting and the pleasure of sharing.
